Max Run Length & Recommended Power

  • Maximum run: 16.5 ft (5 m) per power feed. The 32 ft and 82 ft reels must be cut into runs of 16.5 ft or less, each with its own feed wire.
  • Power: about 5.5W per foot, so a full 16.5 ft run draws about 91W. Load a transformer to no more than 80% of its rating, so a full run needs at least 113W.

Recommended transformers (power your RGB controller, which handles color and dimming):

  • Do not put a wall dimmer on the transformer's line when using an RGB controller. Check that the controller is rated for the wattage of the run it controls.
  • Connecting any transformer to 120V power should be done by a licensed electrician.

Professional Installation Recommended: Consult a licensed Electrician
